I had to think about this article for a while. Mr.Hoke serves as an example of what I should've done years ago and what I should be doing now. He not only sketched, but actively deconstructed sneakers in his spare time as a youth. Mr.Hoke states that none of his ideas are final and is never concerned with the details of his drawing. He also doesn't limit himself to just sneakers, preferring to draw human anatomy and architecture. Along with his own ideas, he also encourages his team to exercise their creativity by experimenting with different shoe designs. The drive to improve and the need to constantly draw are things a designer should hone.
